The Tutor, a new film in the American theatrical circuit, has been causing quite a stir amongst movie lovers and critics alike. At first glance, the movie may seem like any other run-of-the-mill thriller with a predictable storyline and mundane plot twists; however, The Tutor is far from just that.
Set in the early 1900s, The Tutor narrates the story of Alice, a young woman who moves to an isolated mansion deep in the woods to work for a wealthy family as their tutor. Before long, Alice realizes that there’s more to this family than meets the eye and soon finds herself trapped in a labyrinth of secrets and lies.
The film features an ensemble cast which includes notable actors such as John Cusack, Emile Hirsch, and Ellar Coltrane. But it’s Alexandra Daddario who steals the show with her performance as Alice. She brings life to her character and adds depth to every scene she appears in.
The score of The Tutor is one of its many highlights. Composer Edward Shearmur creates an eerie soundscape that perfectly complements the mood of each scene. From haunting orchestral melodies to spine-chilling sound effects – every note will send shivers down your spine.
