Once upon a time, in the verdant hills of Hollywood, there lay a movie production studio where the newly released film “Paranoia” was born. This suspenseful flick is a tale of deception and corporate espionage that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.
The plot revolves around Adam Cassidy (played by Liam Hemsworth), a young and ambitious software engineer who works for Wyatt Corporation. When his boss Nicholas Wyatt (portrayed by Gary Oldman) catches him using company resources for personal reasons, he gives him an ultimatum – either go to jail or take part in a secret project to infiltrate their biggest rival company, Eikon. With no other option, Adam agrees to do it.
This leads him into a dangerous game of cat and mouse as he tries to gather information about Eikon’s latest technology while trying not to get caught by their security team led by the ruthless FBI agent Gamble (embodied by Harrison Ford). Along the way, Adam meets and falls in love with Emma Jennings (played by Amber Heard), an Eikon employee who unknowingly gets caught up in his web of lies.
This gripping storyline is shot beautifully by Director Robert Luketic. He uses slick editing techniques and stunning aerial shots to show the stark contrast between the two companies’ offices. The soundtrack is also noteworthy as it adds to the tension building throughout each scene.
The cast performances were excellent too as they effectively brought their characters’ personalities alive on-screen.
